When lifting equipment is used in a warehouse, the requirement is often straightforward: lift the load to the required height, move it to the right position, and keep the operation simple enough for everyday work.

That was the basic requirement behind one of our recent projects in Lithuania. The customer needed lifting equipment for warehouse operations and selected three 2 ton electric chain hoists with motorized trolleys from Yuantai Crane.

The final configuration included a 2 ton lifting capacity, 6 m lifting height, 6.6 m/min lifting speed, 11 m/min trolley speed, pendant control, and 380V/50Hz/3-phase power supply. The customer also requested a batch of wearing spare parts, which we supplied at a preferential price together with the equipment.

It was a relatively straightforward order, but it reflects an important point about warehouse lifting equipment: the best solution is not necessarily the most complicated one. It is the one that fits the actual working process.

Understanding the Customer’s Warehouse Requirement

The customer’s main requirement was to handle loads within the warehouse more conveniently. The hoist equipment needed to lift loads vertically, but lifting alone was not enough. Once a load was off the ground, it also needed to be moved horizontally to the required working position.

For this reason, we did not recommend a fixed electric chain hoist. A motorized trolley was added so that the hoist could travel along the supporting beam.

The customer required a 2 ton lifting capacity and 6 m lifting height, with a power supply of 380V/50Hz/3-phase. The equipment would be operated through a pendant control system, keeping the controls simple for routine warehouse handling.

Based on these requirements, we focused on a compact and practical electric chain hoist configuration rather than adding functions that were not necessary for the application.

The Final Solution: Three 2 Ton Electric Chain Hoists

We supplied three identical electric chain hoists with motorized trolleys for the warehouse.

Each unit was configured according to the customer’s required lifting and travelling conditions:

The configuration was selected as a complete working solution rather than simply matching a lifting capacity. The 2 ton chain hoist provides the required vertical movement, while the motorized trolley allows the load to travel horizontally along the beam. Together, they give the operator the basic movements needed for lifting and positioning loads within the warehouse.

Design Features and Advantages for Warehouse Operations

For this project, we focused on a practical configuration rather than adding functions that the customer did not need. The combination of a 2 ton electric chain hoist, motorized trolley, 6 m lifting height, and pendant control provides both vertical lifting and horizontal load movement in one compact system.

Compact and Practical Design

Electric chain hoists are a practical choice for warehouse applications where the required lifting capacity is moderate, and installation space needs to be used efficiently. Compared with larger lifting systems, their compact arrangement can be easier to integrate into a suitable supporting beam while still providing the lifting capacity required for routine warehouse work.

For this project, the 2 ton capacity and 6 m lifting height were selected to meet the customer’s actual requirements, providing the necessary working range without unnecessarily increasing the equipment size.

Motorized Trolley for Easier Load Positioning

Lifting the load is only one part of warehouse handling. In many operations, the load also needs to be moved from one position to another after it has been lifted.

That is why we supplied the hoists with motorized trolleys. With a trolley speed of 11 m/min, the operator can move the suspended load along the supporting beam instead of relying on manual pushing. This makes positioning more convenient and helps complete routine lifting and movement tasks within the working area.

Simple Pendant Control

The customer selected pendant control for straightforward daily operation. The operator can control the hoist and trolley while staying close to the load, which is useful when positioning loads during warehouse handling.

Rather than making the control system unnecessarily complicated, we kept it focused on the basic movements the customer actually needed: lifting, lowering, and trolley travel.

Matched to the Customer’s Working Conditions

The equipment was configured for the customer’s 380V/50Hz/3-phase power supply, so the electrical specification was considered as part of the overall solution.

This is also an important point when selecting an electric chain hoist for a European warehouse. Capacity and lifting height are only part of the selection process. The available power supply, supporting beam, required travel, working frequency, and actual handling process all need to be considered together.

Why an Electric Chain Hoist Can Suit Warehouse Applications

Not every warehouse needs a large overhead crane. Where the lifting requirement is within a few tons, and a suitable supporting beam is available, an electric chain hoist can provide a practical alternative for specific lifting and material handling tasks.

One advantage is the relatively compact arrangement. The hoist and trolley can work together as a single lifting unit, allowing the operator to raise a load and move it horizontally within the available working area.

This makes an electric trolley chain hoist suitable for a range of warehouse activities, including material handling, equipment movement, loading and unloading within designated areas, and maintenance-related lifting.

Of course, the right choice depends on the actual application. Load weight, lifting height, beam dimensions, travel distance, operating frequency, available power supply, and installation conditions should all be checked before selecting the hoist equipment. Spare Parts Prepared for Future Maintenance

There was another detail in this order that we considered important.

The customer asked us to supply some commonly used wearing spare parts together with the hoists. We therefore prepared a batch of spare parts at a preferential price.

For an overseas warehouse operator, having commonly replaced parts available can make future maintenance more convenient. If a wearing component eventually needs to be replaced, the customer does not necessarily have to wait for a new order to be arranged and shipped.

We see this as part of the overall equipment supply rather than an unrelated extra. When customers purchase lifting equipment from an overseas manufacturer, they naturally consider more than the initial equipment price. They also want to know how routine maintenance will be handled, whether spare parts can be supplied, and how easily they can communicate with the supplier if a question arises later.

Preparing spare parts together with the original order is one simple way to make that process easier.

Looking for an Electric Chain Hoist for Your Warehouse?

For warehouse applications, we normally look beyond lifting capacity when selecting an electric chain hoist. Lifting height, horizontal travel, power supply, working frequency, and installation conditions all need to match the actual operation.

At Yuantai Crane, we focus on matching the hoist configuration to the customer’s actual working conditions. If you are looking for an electric chain hoist for a warehouse or industrial facility in Europe, send us your lifting capacity, lifting height, beam dimensions, power supply, and application details. We can then recommend a suitable configuration for your project.
